New PC Patch Coming for NFS: Hot Pursuit
The new Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit racing game will be getting a new update on the PC platform, as Criterion Games, its developer, has just revealed details about it on its official web page.
According to the developer, the next Hot Pursuit patch will improve the user experience and fix difficulties reported by players.
Check out the key things that will be addressed by this patch below:
Groundcover Graphical Errors - When alt-tabbing, the groundcover would start to corrupt, causing random tree images to appear all over the screen.
Controller Configurations - On some machines controller configurations that have been set up for wheels, pads, etc are not saving correctly to a configuration file. This is now fixed.
Rare crash when entering the Career map screen - The game sometimes crashes when entering the Career map screen quickly after booting the game.
Rare crash when streaming graphical data
Steering response reported as having large dead zone
Player car engine volume too low
According to Criterion, owners of AMD/ATI Radeon graphics cards are also plagued by a glitch when selecting races in the career mode if they override the antialiasing settings from the ATI Catalyst software suite.
This will be patched through the release of a new driver version by AMD, which will arrive this week, at least according to Criterion Games.
The studio also reminds users that they can use their special Bugzilla feature to send them details about different glitches and problems encountered while playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on the PC platform.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit has just been released on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
It marks a new step for EA's NFS racing franchise, and re-introduces some of its classic features, including the ability to race against cops or even play as the police and take down illegal racers.
Expect more details about the patch, including a release date, in the following weeks.
