How to Use the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Seamless Multiplayer Mod.
Recently the seamless Co-op mod for Elden Ring was broken but has finally been updated and fixed. So in this quick guide, we'll show you how to install and use the new Shadow of the Erdtree seamless multiplayer mod. If you've got the old version installed remove it before you start the steps below.
How to Use the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Seamless Multiplayer Mod.
First, download the latest version of the Seamless Co-op mod from Nexus Mods by choosing manual download.
Once you have the zip file on your computer extract it to a folder of your choosing. Now we can start the setup process.
Note: Just remember that if you were using an older version you need to delete it before continuing otherwise you'll have problems.
Installing Seemless Coop for Shadow of the Erdtree.
- Now we need to move the files from the zip folder into the game folder. So go over to Steam, find Elden Ring, right-click on it and select Browse Local Files.
- Here enter the Game folder then copy and paste everything from the zip folder across. Accept the prompt to overwrite content when it appears.
Configure Everything and Set a Password.
- Now enter the SeemlessCoop folder and open the erse_settings.ini file. To do this right-click on it and select Open with > Notepad.
- Inside this file you will see a ton of customisable options for the game. You can customise these however you like but there is one important one at the bottom of the list that you need to configure. PASSWORD.
- Enter a secure session password then save your changes by clicking File > Save.
IMPORTANT: If you want your friends to play with you they need to follow all of the exact same steps and set the exact same password as you.
Now go back and find the ERSC_Launcher.exe this is the file that you will use to launch coop games. You can copy and paste it onto your desktop or anywhere else for quick access. Just remember this will start a brand new game for you. If you want to import an existing save game follow the next step.
How to Import an Existing Save Game into Seemless Co-op for Elden Ring.
- To import an existing save file open File Explorer and go to: C:\Users\Jasch\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing.
- Open the top folder (your Steam ID folder). Here you will see all of your save files. If you don't make sure hidden files are visible and extensions are showing by going to View and changing the folder options.
- The sl2 files are your single-player save files.
- The co2 files are your coop saves (if you've played the multiplayer mod before)
- To import/convert one of your single-player save files, copy the sl2 file to the desktop, right-click on it and rename the file from .sl2 to .co2, then accept the change. Now copy and paste it back into your save game folder.
- Now you can use the launcher from the earlier step to start the game and load it into the save file you just converted.
Getting the Multiplayer Items Back.
If you had an older version of SeemlessCoop the old items that allow SeemlessCoop to work have been removed so you'll need to find a site of Grace that you can sit at in order to get your new items. So visit the closest site of Grace to wherever you are. Rest here and you should be given the new hosting items again. If you start a brand new game you will need to sit at a site of Grace in order to get all of these multiplayer items.
How to Host a Coop Game in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.
In order to host a game you'll need to use the following items. So open up your pause menu inventory, and find the Tiny Great Pot which will allow you to open your world to multiplayer. This will let friends join your server. If you want to close your server, you can head back and interact with the Tiny Great Pot and you'll be able to lock it or view your current session password.
How to Join a Coop Game in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.
Go to a site of Grace and touch it, you will be given an item called the Effigy Of Melenia. Use it in order to join your friend's servers so long as they have the same password.
Finally, there's the Challenges Lynch Pin item which you can use in order to join another world as a malicious Wanderer.
