Discord is one of the most popular communication platforms for gamers and a range of other online communities. It’s free, jam-packed full of features and has a stability and resource usage history that no other service can rival. It’s one of the few programs you can happily leave running in the background without any performance loss while playing games.
Another really good thing about Discord is that it is now possible to sign in with multiple accounts and easily switch between them. Without having to sign out and sign back in again. This saves you having to enter your email address, password and 2FA information each and everything time you switch. So how do you start using the quick account switch option in Discord?
Note: At this stage, this feature is only available for the PC version of Discord, you won’t be able to use it in the mobile app on Android and iOS.
How do you Use Multiple Accounts in Discord? Using Discord quick account switching.
- To begin, open Discord, either the program or the web version works fine.
- Next, sign in to an account. Then click your Profile icon in the bottom left-hand corner.
- Now go to Switch Account > Manage Accounts.
- In the new window that appears click Add an account and sign in using your credentials for that account.
- Once you have done this you will have two accounts added. You can add more if you need to.
Now it’s as simple as clicking your Profile icon, going to Switch account and selecting your secondary account. Switching accounts only takes a few seconds and can be done as often as you like. The important thing to remember is that you won’t see notifications and messages from the other account that is not active. You will have to switch back to it to get any messages etc. So far it looks like you can add as many accounts as you like. There doesn’t seem to be a limit. At least from what we can see at the moment.
Remember this feature isn’t available in the mobile versions of Discord. Both Android and iOS.
