How to Use a Controller with Suyu Android - Suyu Android Controller Support

The newly launched Suyu Android app picks up where Yuzu Android adly ended, allowing users to enjoy their favourite Nintendo Switch games on Android devices. Keep in mind that it's still in the early stages of release, so there's a lot of work to be done and many features yet to be added and optimized.

Despite the current instability and a lack of features, experimenting with Suyu Android is certainly worthwhile. In this article, we'll explore the current state of controller input support in Suyu Android and provide guidance on how to use controllers effectively.

Note: Joy-Cons are not currently supported due to Android restrictions.

Suyu Android On-Screen Controller Input Overlay

For users who prefer on-screen controls (I think you're crazy), Suyu Android provides an on-screen input overlay. This overlay is always available and can be hidden while playing games. To disable the overlay, simply swipe from the left side of the screen and toggle Input Overlay > Show Overlay. Additionally, users can adjust the button and stick placements within the overlay to suit their preferences.

Controller support for Suyu Android is still a work in progress. While the ability to configure multiple controllers and their button mappings is being developed as a priority, it is not yet fully ready. However, the most common controllers on the market, such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch Pro controllers, can be automatically mapped when paired over Bluetooth. Generic DirectInput controllers are also supported, though there may be some mapping issues and potentially missing button mappings. It's important to note that Joy-Cons are not currently supported due to Android restrictions, which are challenging to work around.
