Reddit is the biggest forum on the Internet and one of the best sources of information regarding just about anything you can think of. There are millions of different subs you can explore and just as many people you can interact with. However, just like everything else online, there are pros and cons to the service. By default, Reddit has relatively open security and privacy settings as it isn’t designed like most social media platforms where people actively identify themselves as themselves.
Another important thing about Reddit that new users aren’t aware of is that anyone can view your Reddit post and comment history, it’s impossible to hide anything you post or comment on Reddit. There are plenty of tools that make this process even easier.Because of this open profile nature, Reddit users will often create throw away/disposable accounts for single-use occasions. However, there are also ways to mass delete Posts and Comments from a Reddit account.
If you aren’t phased about what’s visible on your Reddit account and don’t mind people seeing all the communities you are part of, you can enable the option. This lets anyone browsing Reddit (from the Reddit app on mobile only) see all the communities that you have joined.

By default Reddit won’t show the communities you are active in, however, this can easily be changed. Just remember that you can only view the communities users are part of from the mobile app so don’t expect to see it if you make the change on PC. To make the communities you have joined appear on your Reddit Profile page do the following.
- First, sign in to your Reddit account, then click your Profile icon in the top right-hand corner and select User Settings.
- This will take you to a new page where you will need to click Profile, then scroll down and enable the toggle next to Active in communities visibility.
As soon as you make the change it will take effect and become visible on your Reddit Profile page. However, as we mentioned above, you can only view it from the mobile app, not the desktop or mobile browser. It has been like this for a while so I doubt it’s going to change anytime soon.
