How to Mine Electroneum (ETN) From Your Smartphone.
Electroneum has been making some very promising moves in the mobile cryptomarket since its launch in November 2017. Although the original launch of the mobile miner and app was a failure due to overwhelming demand and some security issues, it’s now live and working like a charm as promised. So if you’d like to start mining some ETN using your mobile device, this guide will show you how.

Mining for cryptocurrency is one of the most hardware and power intensive tasks you can undertake on modern devices. Traditionally mining is done on specially designed systems that utilize high-end graphics cards, however, thanks to Electroneum it’s now possible to start mining on Android mobile devices. Unfortunately, for the time being, iPhone users won't be able to partake in ETN phone mining as the Electroneum team haven't yet been able to satisfy Apples very strict app requirements. Though if their team continues to push forward with the drive they have shown so far and complete mass Android adoption, it should speed up the process considerably.
There are some important things to take into account before you get started with the setup guide below. First of all mining from an Android device isn’t going to compete in any way with a specially designed mining rig, but it will introduce you to the process and earn you some Electronuem, which down the track may be worth a considerable amount. Secondly, the current process is more of a simulation rather than true mining. This is a good thing however as your device isn’t going to suffer any of the side effects of strenuous physical mining. Below is the official description of the ETN miner from Richard Ells at Electroneum.
“The mobile miner is a completely revolutionary way to earn cryptocurrency by "mining" on your phone. In fact, your phone isn't really doing the hard work of mining the coins, that's already done - this is a mining experience. "What's that?!", I hear you say, well, our mining experience looks like a miner, feels like a miner and pays out real Electroneum cryptocurrency, just like a complex command line miner running on a Linux computer - BUT all you need to do is click the "START MINING" button on a free app to earn cryptocurrency!
These coins are nothing to do with the coins emitted by the blockchain as part of the blockchain reward. Blockchain miners are still vitally important to Electroneum, but full mining is too complex for the average user. The mobile miner is a separate algorithm that rewards users with ETN cryptocurrency at no cost.”

Once you have the app installed on your device using it is super simple, however, you will first need to set up an account, which does take some time. To start, you have two options, the first is to sign in using your Facebook account, which is the quickest and easiest option.
Note: If you choose this option make sure you have a very secure password on your Facebook account and the email linked to it. As Crypto is very sort after, hackers are very keen to get their hands on any currency they can.
Alternatively, if you don't want to use your Facebook account, you can choose to Sign up via the website which uses email and a phone number instead. The sign-up process is simple enough to get through, regardless of the option you use, but you will be required to go through plenty of security steps before your account and wallet are created. (Make sure you make a copy of all the information especially your wallet codes etc)
Once you complete the signup process, sign into the app using your details, change to the miner tab and tap Start Mining. The app will then allocate you a H/s (hash rate) which is the speed at which your phone accumulates ETN, the higher the number, the quicker you will get ETN. If you have several old phones laying around doing nothing, you can sign into your account on multiple devices to take advantage of the offer.
I’ve been mining for 24 hours now and the data usage and power consumption are a minimal, although if you are planning on mining 24hrs a day for a month, you may want to calculate how much data the miner uses daily, it’s also wise to use WiFi whenever possible.
