If you are trying to download or play games from the Xbox app but can't do anything because everything keeps showing the Content Failed to load error. This article will guide you through quite a few different steps you can take to solve the problem. More often than not it's a simple fix but you won't know until you start working through these steps.

I'm 99.9% sure you've already done it, but make sure you restart your computer and your Internet modem/router. Once you have done this check to see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't work your way through all of the steps shown below, from top to bottom.

Make Sure you're Signed in to the Right Account.

After you've restarted your computer Make sure that the account you are using in the Xbox app matches the account you are using in the Microsoft Store. If for some reason you have different accounts signed in you will get this error message. Sometimes it will also appear as though you don't have an active Game Pass subscription.

Reset the Xbox App

So far you've reset 2 out of the 3 components that require resettings. So now it's time to reset the Gaming Services app.

This process should resolve the problem. However, if the error persists, you may need to take additional steps.

Uninstall the Latest Windows 11 Update

If the issue began after a Windows 11 update, uninstalling the latest update should help. This option is typically available within 9 days of the update installation. Sometimes updates introduce new bugs, so removing the problematic update could fix the "Content Failed to Load" error.
