To get Star Rail to show up in OBS Game Capture Mode, you’ll need to make two key adjustments:
- Run OBS with Administrator Privileges
- Set Star Rail to Run in Windows 8 Compatibility Mode (Yes, it’s unusual, but it works!)
Once you have done this things should work without any issues and you'll be able to stream to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, or whatever platform you need to use.
Running OBS as Administrator
To ensure OBS runs with full administrator rights each time, follow these steps:
- Locate the shortcut you typically use to open OBS.
- Right-click on the shortcut and select "Properties."
- In the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check the box labelled "Run this program as an administrator."

Note: If you have multiple OBS shortcuts, repeat this process for each one. Otherwise, just stick to opening OBS with the same shortcut every time.
