Solasta: Crown of the Magister has recently landed on Game Pass and is a surprisingly good take on D&D though some of the graphics are a little rough. Especially the facial graphics which make the controversy around Mass Effect: Andromeda seems a major overreaction. Apart from that though the game is sensational at least as far as I have managed to get through it so far.
Unfortunately, it took quite some time to get it working with sound on my computer. I’m currently using the Game Pass version of Solasta: Crown of the Magister but the problem of no sound also affects the Steam version as well. While trying to solve no sound in Solasta: Crown of the Magister I reinstalled the game several times, adjusted sound settings, and reinstalled all my system drivers, without any success. However, I did end up finding the cause of the problem.
Sonic Suite 3 by ASUSTeK is the cause of the issue and once disabled restores sound to Solasta: Crown of the Magister which is the strangest issue I have come across in quite some time. That said simply right-clicking and closing it from the taskbar before starting the game doesn’t solve the problem either.
How do you fix no sound in Solasta: Crown of the Magister (Game Pass & Steam)?
As we mentioned the cause of no sound in Solasta: Crown of the Magister is Sonic Suite (all versions) though 3 seems to be the worst. So we’ll need to disable it completely before sound will be restored to Solasta: Crown of the Magister.
- In order to do this open Task Manager on your computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
- Now change to the Startup tab, and find Sonic Suite 3 (or whatever one you have).
- When you have found it right-click on it and select Disable.
- Once you have made the change Restart your computer and you will be able to play Solasta: Crown of the Magister with sound on Game Pass and Steam.
If you don’t actually use Sonic Suite you can also remove it from your computer entirely which works just as well.
How do uninstall Sonic Suite from your computer to fix no sound in Solasta: Crown of the Magister?
If you’d rather just get rid of Sonic Suite because you don’t actually use it. Just open Control Panel on your computer, find it on the list, then right-click on it and select Uninstall. Once the process completes, Restart your computer and you will be able to start playing Solasta: Crown of the Magister with sound again.
While you are here you may also want to uninstall some of Asus’s other horrendously bad software Asus AI Suite III and worst of all Fan Expert III. Two of the worst pieces of software that have ever been included with Asus hardware.
