Before you start any of the steps shown below, make sure you have checked for any Windows updates and that your computer's BIOS is fully up to date. These are two simple things that have a high chance of solving most Davinci Resolve errors. These are really important steps if you are using any kind of Intel hardware in your system.

Force Windows to use the Correct GPU (Laptop users)

While this step isn't a guarantee to stop crashing during rendering, it's going to help with overall performance in Davinci Resolve.

  • Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows Key + I.

  • Next, go to Display > Graphics.

  • On this page click the Add Desktop App button and select the Resolve.exe file inside the Davinci Resolve installation folder.

  • Reinstall your graphics drivers, ensuring your internet connection is re-established to prevent Windows from automatically installing generic drivers.

  • When you have reinstalled your drivers, re-download GeForce Experience and update your drivers as needed. If the issue persists, repeat the process.
