Lethal Company is a super simple multiplayer game that has recently gone viral, shooting to the top of Steam's most-played games. While the game is super fun there are some issues you may come across when trying to record your gameplay using NVIDIA's built-in screen recording tools. The tool that appears when you press Alt+Z on your keyboard. The one that allows Instant replays, broadcasting, recording, and highlights. Thankfully the fix is quite a simple one but first, make sure you have downloaded the latest graphics drivers and Geforce Experience. Once you have done this, restart your computer and prepare to work your way through the solutions below.
How do you Record Lethal Company using NVIDIA ShadowPlay and Geforce Experience?
At this point in time, this problem is most probably caused by the NVIDIA in-game overlay not detecting the game correctly, preventing recording and instant replay from working. This causes Geforce Experience Overlay to jump back to the desktop where it then stops recording.
- To solve this problem press Alt+Z to bring up the Shadowplay/Geforce Overlay.
- Here click on settings, then scroll down and click Privacy Control.
- This will bring up a single option called Desktop Capture.
- Make sure this option is not Enabled so Disable it then restart the game or your PC / laptop and you should be able to record content without any more problems.
Update your Graphics Drivers and Geforce Experience.
This is an obvious solution that you should be doing regularly anyway, but if it has been a while since you updated your Graphics Drivers now is the time to do it. This will update the NVIDIA Control Panel, Geforce Experience, and NVIDIA overlay and should solve Shadowplay not recording. When errors are involved I like to use DDU to clean install everything.
- Download the latest graphics drivers from your computer or graphics card manufacturer's website.
- Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely uninstall your current graphics drivers.
- After uninstallation, install the new drivers you downloaded.
- This ensures a clean installation and helps prevent generic driver issues.
Once you start your computer again you should be able to use NVIDIA GeForce Now without any issues. So long as the servers are all up and working.
Switch to using OBS instead of ShadowPlay.
If this still doesn't work, consider switching to OBS to do all of your game recording. Even if you manage to get the "Geforce Experience" recorder working OBS is generally way better for recording content anyway. I highly suggest making the switch, especially if you plan on streaming to Twitch, YouTube or even Facebook.
