After reformatting your PC one of the most frustrating and time-consuming aspects about the setup process is re-installing programs and apps. Thankfully there is a way to make this process substantially easier using a service and tool called Ninite. Although Ninite is a fairly well-known tool, a lot of people still aren’t taking advantage of it.
Ninite works by allowing you to select programs to install on your system from a long list of options. The category list is quite impressive and includes browsers, messaging, media, runtimes, imaging, docs, security etc. Within each of these categories, you will find programs like Chrome, Firefox, Steam, Skype, Gimp, Avast, Avg, Winrar and so on. Ninite’s feature and program lists are below if you need a little more convincing.

Even if you haven’t recently reformatted your computer, you can still use Ninite, there are no restrictions preventing you from using the service. To begin, go to the Ninite website using the link below.
Once you are on the Ninite page, use the tick boxes next to the programs within each category to add them to your list. You can add as many items to the list as you require, so don’t be sparing. Once you are done, click Get Your Ninite and a special .exe file will be downloaded to your computer.
Now all you have to do is run the Ninite.exe file and wait for the programs to install. Below is an example of the finished product. For whatever reason Musicbee didn’t install so I had to install it manually.
Although Ninite has the most popular programs listed, there are a few common programs that would be awesome to see added to the list, Origin, and Uplay for example. If you are wondering why programs like Photoshop CS6, Camtasia, Word etc aren’t on the list, it is because they require considerably more input during setup, things such as keys and login info. If you are really into the service, there’s also a pro version, however, it is more suited for businesses.
