How to boot directly to desktop in Windows 8.1?
Windows 8.1 is now available for all Windows 8 users, and brings some new features. Microsoft has apparently listened to customer prayers and offers the ability to boot directly to the Desktop, so you can skip the “Start Screen”. We will show you how to do it.
You no longer need a dedicated software for this, since the system performs it for you. All you need to do is right click on the Taskbar and select “Properties”. Next, you will be transferred to the “Taskbar and Navigation” properties. Select “Navigation” panel and enable the “Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in” option. You need to press apply and click the option “OK” to move on.
Once you have done it, all changes are automatically saved. You might need to restart the computer after making the changes. From now on, you do not need to use the “Start Screen” and you can directly boot to the desktop. With this option, the desktop in Windows 8 is no longer an annoying add-on, which you have turn on and off. In Windows 8.1, the desktop disappears completely after starting the screen. Both elements can have the same wallpaper.
This option was primarily designed for those who like the classic look of Windows, and use their laptops at work. Convenience and efficiency are the utmost factors they consider rather than graphic fireworks.
