Adobe Illustrator is a fantastic piece of software for editing videos and creating amazing content. When it works! Everyone who has used Adobe Illustrator at some stage knows that it can be quite hit-and-miss in a lot of areas, especially when it comes to workspaces and layouts. This guide however will focus on Adobe Illustrator launch errors:
- “The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”
Three almost identical errors that often occur at the same time, preventing Adobe Illustrator from launching. Essentially it shows that msvcp110.dll is missing, MSVCR100.dll is missing and MSVCR110.dll is also missing. Thankfully I managed to track down a decent solution that fixed these error messages at the same time and almost as expected! Windows was to blame!
How do you fix Adobe Illustrator missing MSVCP110.dll, MSVCR100.dll and/or MSVCR110.dll was not found error on Windows operating systems?
Before you go ahead and reinstall Adobe Illustrator to fix any one of these error messages head on visit the official Microsoft website and download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4. I know that sounds crazy because it’s from 2012 but it contains all of the .dll files that are missing from your computer which are needed to launch Adobe Illustrator. Once you have downloaded and installed the missing data Adobe Illustrator will launch without issue, however, I would recommend a restart before opening it.
If you still get this same error message after doing this, you can try a bulk Visual C++ installation tool. This will check and install every single Visual C++ Redistributable file that Microsoft has and should solve the problem pretty quickly.
The Last Resort Solution for Adobe Illustrator missing MSVCP110.dll, MSVCR100.dll MSVCR110.dll was not found error on Windows 10 & 11.
In the rare event that the above-suggested solution doesn't fix the issue (which is highly unlikely), you can check out another option by visiting https://www.dll-files.com/. There, you can search for and download the missing .dll files mentioned in the error message. This method carries some risk, as it relies on the assumption that the .dll files available on the website are free of any malicious content. On top of that you may need to experiment with various versions of the same .dll file, ensuring compatibility with your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
I only recommend using this option if the first option doesn’t work for you. If you have access to a functioning installation on another device, it is preferable to copy the necessary files from there and paste them into your system directory (C:\Windows\System32). Good luck!
