Eurocom Racer Becomes Available with HD 6970M and GTX 485M Discrete Graphics
At the beginning of the year, Eurocom announced what back then the company called the “world's most powerful 15-inch notebook.” Dubbed Racer, now the laptop is finally available for purchase and Eurocom prides itself with the fact that its new creation can be configured with no less than seven different VGA options including the GeForce GTX 485M, Radeon HD 6970M or Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M.
Other graphics card options include the GeForce GTX 470M and GTX 460M and the Racer can be configured to feature a wide series of Sandy Bridge-based Core i7 and Core i5 processors up to the Core i7 2920XM Extreme Edition.
This features no less than four processing cores with HyperThreading support, 8MB of Level 3 cache and comes clocked at 2.5GHz (up to 3.5GHz thanks to Turbo Boost).
In addition, the machine can be configured to feature a maximum of 32GB of DDR3 memory and packs two drive bays which can be populated with SSD, hybrid or mechanical drives to provide up to 1.75TB of storage.
Other features include a 9-in-1 card reader, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, DVI and HDMI video outputs, an eSATA port, on-board Gigabit LAN and various wireless card options (Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, and/or 3.75G UMTS/HSDPA).
The screen measures 15.6-inch in diagonal, is LED backlit, supports Full HD resolutions and is available with a glossy or matte finish.

The Eurocom Racer is available right now from the company's website and its price starts at $1249 USD. The base configuration features a 2.0GHz Core i7 2630QM processor, 4GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M graphics card with 1.5GB of video buffer.
