CES 2012: SilverStone Unleashes Temjin TJ04-E Case
Like so many other companies, SilverStone made an appearance at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, one of its products being a successor to something it launched back in 2004.
SilverStone just released the Temjin TJ04-E case, the successor to the Temjin TJ04, where E stands for Evolution.
Obviously, this means that the product is a new and improved version of something the world is already familiar with.
The Temjin TJ04-E has a weight of 9.6 kilograms (21.16 pounds) and measures 214 (W) x 489 (H) x 489 (D) mm (8.42 x 19.25 x 19.25 inches).
Its interior can hold up to a quartet of 5.25-inch drives, or whatever else is designed to fit such a bay (fan controllers, card readers, etc.).
Also, there are nine 3.5-inch drive bays, for hard drive units.
SilverStone did something unusual here and added an additional drive cage, of sorts, at the bottom, where up to six 2.5-inch SSDs may be placed.
Furthermore, the custom HDD cage was designed with built-in heatsinks and SATA cables, so that none need ever wrestle with unruly wires.
Needless to say, SilverStone did not forget about the I/O panel, which it placed at the front and gave the obligatory audio jacks and two USB 3.0 ports (backwards-compatible with USB 2.0, obviously).
The company decided the Temjin TJ04-E could do with some serious cooling too, so it pre-installed three 120mm fans (top, rear and right panel).
Finally, CPU coolers up to 168 mm-tall can be installed, as can a side window, if one so chooses when making the order.
Unfortunately, anyone interested in buying this item will have to wait until later this month.
Although reportedly orders can already be placed, for 129 Euro (165.50 dollars), shipments have not begun yet. Fortunately, January won't last for much longer, so stores may have the TJ04-E as early as next week.
