Avira 2013 takes a big step forward and introduces components designed to keep the user protected from social network perils or browsing to unsafe websites.
Through the social network protection component Avira can scan the accounts for Facebook, Twitter or Google+ for patterns that may be unfit for your reputation or indicative of improper behavior, such as online bullying.
In the Free edition there are no more pop-ups, but only if you install their toolbar. This, however, includes in-browser protection against navigation to unsafe websites and Do Not Track capability.
Paid products sport a module for locating Android devices as well as sending remote commands for locking the phone or triggering a 20-second alert sound.
There are more updates in Avira 2013, every six hours for users of the Free version and every two hours for paying customers.
