Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S III Tipped for August 29

The first rumors on the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S III emerged about one week ago. The folks over at SamMobile have been confirmed from an insider that Samsung has successfully completed firmware tests for Galaxy S III. In addition, the same source claims Samsung is working on a version for the general public, which is expected to be released in late Q3 or early Q4 2012. However, it looks like we have new info on the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S III. The guys over at GSMArena have been tipped on the upcoming release of the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III. According to GSMArena’s tipster, Samsung plans to announce the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III on August 29, two days ahead of IFA 2012 opening. The South Korean company is also expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note II on August 29, but the smartphone is expected to go on sale in September / October. The Galaxy Note II will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, but Samsung is rumored to offer a Jelly Bean update soon after the smartphone’s release on the market. This means that Galaxy S III will be the first Samsung device to receive the hotly anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Beal update. In the same piece of news, Samsung is also testing a Jelly Bean upgrade for Galaxy S II and the first results look pretty promising. If everything goes well, Samsung Galaxy S II owners might receive the update by the end of the year. Samsung has yet to come forward with an official announcement that might confirm some of these rumors, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
