MusicBrainz Picard Download
MusicBrainz Picard is a free application that helps you tag songs from a local MP3 collection. MusicBrainz Picard supports most known and everyday used formats, which will help to tag not only songs with the MP3 extension but also FLAC, WMA or others. It runs on the basis of the huge MusicBrainz music database.
While most tagging software is based on scanning songs by filenames and comparing them to the results in a database, MusicBrainz Picard uses a slightly different mechanism, which is much more effective. In addition to file names, Picard also uses acoustic scanning and song analysis, thanks to which comparing the obtained results to the database, we obtain better and more accurate tags. It works in a similar way to Shazam.
By default, the program saves a number of text information about songs during tagging, such as artist, album, song number, length, composer, album number, and even a label or genre. Additionally, we can enable the download of covers in the program options. Picard works with Amazon, CD Baby, Cover Art Archive and other websites, so searching and embedding covers in files is not a problem.
The user can also force the files to be renamed appropriately to match the newly obtained tags. It is also possible to download and generate tags from the file names of the songs. The advantage is also in support of many plugins that can be downloaded from the official site. They extend the operation of the program with additional functions. An example is the Last.fm Tags plugin, which allows you to customize the "genre" tag to match the music genres from Last.fm.
