PeaZip has been tailored to either compress or decompress files smoothly. It works with archive formats like ZIP, ARC, 7Z, and TAR. Unfortunately, it does not support RAR files ( it is able to read them but cannot write them.)

Given the depth of its features, PeaZip is equipped with really nice and quite advanced encryption/password options ( users can add passwords and create a key file) and compression variables.
